Travel Guidelines

Health & Safety

All activities conducted undergo thorough risk assessment at the conceptual, planning and implementation stages. Periodic review of processes is carried out based on experiences and feedback. We follow international safety standards (BS 8848) and guidelines of WHO, NCDC and other reputed organizations to develop our operational protocols. Most of the equipment utilized is from reputed international and Indian suppliers. Water activities are conducted under the supervision of qualified personnel with quality safety equipment. Safety procedures are strictly adhered to.

Covid Protocols

The Covid-19 pandemic adds a layer of risk of a transmissible disease both in daily life and in travel experiences. To comply with the Government of India’s guidelines on operating tours and following the travel guidelines, we have documented our Standard Operating Procedures for conducting tours during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Tour Location

  • Keep track of the cases with help of local Health Authorities
  • Avoid Local Interaction with vulnerable communities
  • Avoid locations with containment zones
  • Route planned to avoid crowded areas
  • Ensure that all venues used have sufficient space to allow for social distancing or where necessary maximum capacities defined. This may include measures to control the flow of people.

Guest Screening

  • Collect Guest’s Basic Information (Name, Age, Location, Contact Number)
  • Questionnaire with guest’s health Information
  • Collect guest’s recent travel history
  • Thermal Scanning on all guests on arrival at the activity location
  • Requirement to wear mask on arrival and during the activity

Guides & Support Staff

  • All staff to have taken at least on dose of Vaccination
  • Tour leader will be provided medical grade face masks for use when they need to be in contact with participants
  • i.e. offering physical support.
  • Crew will be provided with non – medical gloves for moving luggage and equipment.
  • Regular training on updated safety measures based on Government guidelines
  • All Guides to have Aarogya Setu App on their mobile device. Using the app, guides to self-check and stay updated about COVID-19 cases in the area they are travelling to.

Common Briefing

  • Safety brief to cover Health and Safety measures
  • Allocated briefing area based on the social distancing norms
  • Hand sanitizer and hand washing facility available for guests
  • Clients to bring own mask for their personal usage.
  • Free masks will be available for guests if required

Equipment

  • All equipment thoroughly cleaned and disinfected using 1% Sodium Hydrochloride solution before and after usage.

Operations

  • Follow a COVID specific Emergency Action Plan
  • Limited number of guests per trip. (based on activity)
  • Social distancing throughout the activity

Travel and Transfers

  • Follow the government guidelines while travelling on public transfers
  • All participants must use hand sanitizer before entering and upon exit of vehicles.
  • All vessels and cars will have key touch points disinfected daily.
  • Where possible food and drink is not to be consumed in vessels.

Overnight Accommodation

  • Rooms will be disinfected before guest arrival
  • Staff will wear mask and will disinfect themselves before entering rooms for housekeeping
  • Our location will need to be reviewed to ensure that they are operating a strict cleaning regime and other social distancing measures in line with local guidelines.

Food

  • Where possible, buffets will not be used, and prepacked lunches will be provided. If buffet style food is required, then this must be served by a member of staff wearing appropriate masks.
  • Hand sanitizer is to be provided as standard at mealtimes.
  • Mealtimes may require multiple sittings or locations to allow social distancing or to fit with capacities.
